It's free so can't complain about over paying. That said, this is simply no good whatsoever. You will not learn anything from this book except that Mr. Wood was a proud Canadian and that the war of 1812 had many battles; a complicated lead-up; a myriad of mismatched players, and a largely foregone conclusion. Sadly, Mr.Wood shares none of the particulars as to why and or how, he simply dismisses the historical outright. Making this not a "Chronicle of 1812", but simply one man's patriotic musings about a war he seems to have known nothing about.
A little dry in places but the history was great.
This.was a good condensed history of the conflict. There were area that.the author could have gone into more detail. Overall I would call this an average work.
Well written historical account of the 1812 war with Britain that solved nothing, but proved to the Americans that mastery of the seas was crucial to their survival.
Excellent historical insight. Enjoyed the back and forth between England and United States in Canada. Would have given 4 stars if maps were available to view when the author explains the movements of the army's
